Description
X1 is in the key in a defensive stance. O1 has the ball and can choose either to pass the ball to O2 or O3. As soon as the pass is made X1 has to come out and defend the shot which is immediately taken by the player with the ball. After the shot X1 has to box out and get the rebound. If X1 gets the rebound he switches from defence to offence and the shooter becomes the next defensive player. If the shot was made or the offensive player gets the offensive rebound X1 stays on defence.
Goals / purpose / skills
Improve the rebounding techniques from the wing positions.
Variations
You could also practice help side boxing out. X1 passes the ball either to O2 or O3 and X1 has to box out the help side offensive player.
Tips / Hints / Emphasis
Make sure that your offensive players go with full strength to the rebound. Stress the correct technique of closing out and boxing out.
