Description
The drill begins with O1 at the top of the key and O2 & O3 at the two wing positions. O1 passes the ball to O2, who got open for the pass by executing a V-cut. O1 then goes to set a screen away for O3, who cuts off the screen to the free throw line, looking for a pass from O2. After the screen, O1 rolls to the basket for a pass, and then pops out to the left corner for a three point shot. O2 chooses either O1 or O3 to receive a pass for a jump shot. After the shot, the players rotate clockwise to continue the drill.
Goals / purpose / skills
This drill is perfect to practice perimeter player screening technique. It also teaches correct footwork, timing and spacing.
Variations
After the screen, O3 could cut off the screen to the basket. O1 then pops out for the pass to the free throw line. Add defenders.
