Shooting - Jump Shot Combinations
Description
Picture 1: O1, O2 & O3 begin by dribbling at the three players who do not have a ball. They shoot a jump shot, rebound their own shot, and go to the line where they dribbled at.
Picture 2: The three players who have just been dribbled at now run to the opposite basket (O4, O5 & O6). Here they receive a pass from O7, O8 & O9 respectively, shoot a jump shot, rebound their own shot, and go to the line where they ran at.
Picture 3: The three players who have just passed the ball now run to the opposite basket (O7, O8 & O9). Here they receive a pass from O1, O2 & O3 respectively, shoot a jump shot, rebound their own shot, and go to the line where they ran at. The drill continues.
Goals / purpose / skills
Running at speed, catching and shooting the ball in a balanced, controlled manner.
Variations
Shoot layups, power layups, threes instead of jump shots. Incorporate a shot fake and dribble move after each pass. Time the drill and demand a certain number of baskets.
Tips / Hints / Emphasis
Coming to a two step stop, being balanced, shoulders and hips square to the basket when shooting the ball.
