Description
Players start out in two lines behind the endline, one at the end of each key. A cone / chair / coach / manager is placed in the middle of the key. O1 does not have a ball to start. They must V-Cut around the cone, changing speed and direction when they do. They receive a pass from O2, shoot a jump shot, rebound their own ball and go to the line from where the pass came. O2 will V-Cut around the cone in the opposite direction, catching a ball from O3, and shoot a jump shot. Drill continues with the cone (and therefore jump shots) progressively moving further away from the basket.
Goals / purpose / skills
To warmup for a practice or game with catch and shoot jump shots from increasing distance.
Variations
Shoot layups / power moves instead of jump shots.
Do not use a cone - have the players judge distance for themselves.
Tips / Hints / Emphasis
Make sure players catch the ball in the triple threat position, are balanced, and shoot the ball immediately.
